What are we looking for?

We have a great opportunity as a Project Manager who will work on unique fixtures projects that involves high end custom cabinetry for a long-lasting functional and luxury experience in our clients’ spaces.

The Project Manager is responsible to project manage store fixtures jobs, planning, organization and monitoring of job progress, activities and maintaining strong relationship with in-house staff, trucking and logistic companies, installers etc.

to ensure assigned jobs are estimated, materials requisition confirmed, products manufactured according to spec, packaged, shipped, installed on time, within budget and according to quality standards.

Some key expectations for the successful candidates are to :

  • Manage the overall process such as plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate projects from the initial request to its final delivery as per schedule, specifications, and budget.
  • Liaison with internal stakeholders such as sales, account manager, detailing, and production to ensure that the project needs, and requirements of the client are determined and executed.
  • Source and specify off-site materials and services, which will include plastics, metal, acrylics, glass, wood, (and related) packaging, and installation as required.
  • Initiate work orders, production and shipping schedules as per the purchase order and final approved drawings.
  • Monitor production process and keep abreast of job progress in accordance with client spec, plans and shipping / installation schedule.
  • Ensure production complies with project deadlines and budget.
  • Liaise with respective teams and ensure shipping and installers are arranged per requirements.
  • Manage reasonable project changes to the point of undue hardship and ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded in terms of the service delivered.
  • Some travel within Canada and the USA may be required from time to time depending on client requirements.
  • Update status of projects at project checkpoint meetings, review deliverables with business stakeholders, and work with cross-functional teams to facilitate project tracking and execution.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.

Education and / or Experience :

  • University or College Diploma
  • 5 - 10 years’ experience as a project manager.
  • Must have 2 + years of experience in the in the woodworking industry, preferably in a Project role.

Required Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills; customer service oriented.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word and Project Management or other related software.
  • Self-motivated and takes pride in accomplishing their work with excellence and attention to detail.
  • Hands on Shop Experience is considered a strong asset.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities :

  • Fast-paced environment
  • Office environment, photocopier, printers
  • Local and International travel (US) to visit customers and between locations.
