Job Description
Altis Technology is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to join our clients team in Ontario. This hybrid role requires candidates to work onsite at various dispatch centers three days a week and remotely for two days.
The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in managing complex IT projects, particularly in the realm of Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) telecommunication systems and PSRN. Key Responsibilities :
- Manage all phases (concept, definition, planning, implementation, and closeout) of large-scale, complex IT projects.
- Oversee and ensure fiscal control and accountability of large project budgets, including estimates, forecasts, and reconciliation of actuals.
- Lead the gathering and development of requirements for project charters and integrated project plans.
- Identify and evaluate specific issues or risks, provide options analysis, and recommend action plans to mitigate risks.
- Utilize project management tools such as MS Project, Clarity / Planview, or equivalents for standard status reporting.
- Plan and implement voice communication services and replace voice communication systems in Public Safety environments.
- Lead projects from market scanning, procurement, planning, implementation to completion.
Must-Have Qualifications :
- 10+ years of experience in Program / Project Management.
- Demonstrated IT project management experience managing all phases of large-scale, complex IT projects.
- Experience with Public Safety Answering Point telecommunication equipment systems such as Communication Console System (CCS), Trunked Radio System, Conventional Communication Solution, and backup solutions.
- Experience with PSRN.
- Working knowledge of Project Management Institute (PMI) standards.
- Demonstrated management experience in Project Management methodologies, producing documentation, collaterals, and artifacts.
- Demonstrated experience with project and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Content Management.
- Demonstrated experience leading a large project team and effectively communicating across many functional areas.
Technical Skills :
- Experience with planning and implementing voice communication services and replacing voice communication systems in Public Safety environments.
- Experience with implementing and replacing voice logging systems.
- Experience with back-end technology of radio and paging systems.
- Experience leading a project from market scanning, procurement, planning, implementation to completion.
Analytic and Communication Skills :
- Experience preparing and distributing project updates and progress reports to stakeholders.
- Ability to manage client expectations with diverse interests, technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Strong written communication skills for preparing authoritative recommendations, proposals, and reports.
- Strong team player with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Strong discipline in resolving resourcing and inter-personal conflicts, ensuring knowledge sharing among team members.
- Experience leading presentations for senior management, stakeholders, and teams.
- Ability to act independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
Industry Experience :
- Experience with the land ambulance sector and its stakeholders is an asset.
- Experience managing projects related to 24x7 critical environments and operations.
