Our client, a leader in the natural resources and manufacturing sector, is seeking an Environmental Regulatory Manager to support their operations.

This role will be key in ensuring all regulatory compliance across manufacturing and resource management facilities, overseeing environmental performance, and helping to implement environmental management systems at the facility level.

What You’ll Do :

As the Environmental Regulatory Manager, you will provide expert guidance on environmental compliance and performance. Your responsibilities will include overseeing environmental permits, facilitating data collection programs such as water sampling and air emissions, and ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained.

You'll collaborate with various teams to support the implementation of an Environmental Management System and help facilities meet environmental goals.

Key Responsibilities :

Regulatory Compliance : Manage environmental permits, ensure site visits and inspections are conducted, and maintain communication with regulators and environmental consultants.

You'll also support activities like regulatory reporting, incident management, and training at the facility level.

  • Environmental Management : Implement and oversee the Environmental Management System, ensuring compliance through audits, site inspections, and by working with facility managers to determine job-specific training requirements.

Who You Are :

You have 5+ years of experience in environmental permitting, compliance, and management systems, with strong knowledge of British Columbia and Canadian environmental legislation.

You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, are self-sufficient, and possess excellent communication skills to interact effectively with both internal teams and external regulators.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum B.Sc. in Environmental Sciences or Resource Management or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in environmental permitting, compliance, and management systems.
  • Knowledge of BC environmental legislation is required.
  • Professional designation (e.g., biologist, agronomist, or forester) is an asset.
  • Experience in the natural resources industry is a strong asset.

Work Environment :

This is a hybrid role, requiring regular travel to various operational sites within British Columbia. Our client values flexibility and the ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication and productivity within the team.

At Humans of HR, we support the development and growth of our candidates to reach their full potential.
