Project Engineer
Our clientWaycon Manufacturing Ltd. is an industrial equipment and machinerymanufacturer located in Penticton BC. They specialize in building awide variety of worldclass equipment and machinery for customersacross multiple industries in North America.
Situated on over 2acres of land their facility is equipped with the latest inhousestateoftheart tooling equipment and engineering technology toprovide a wide variety of manufacturing capabilities includingconcept design CNC machining fabrication welding painting andassembly totesting.
Theycurrently have an opportunity for an experienced ProjectEngineer to join their team. As the ideal candidate you will have experiencehandling client relationships through providing technicalassistance quotations and overseeing the successful execution ofprojects from start to finish.
You will reviewestimate requests identify project costs production timelinesmaterials and labour cost estimates and contract proposals.
Youwill come with a solid foundation of costing and product designexperience and will be comfortable working on several projects atonce.
With a keen sense of detail and strong communication skillsyou will have the ability to coordinate different parties involvedin each project to ensure that they are delivering on what waspromised.
Additionalresponsibilities willinclude :
- Maintainand build clientrelationships;
- ReviewRFQs and preparequotes;
- Designand develop equipment and systems for efficientproduction;
- Preparedrawings andspecifications;
- Planexecute and monitor projects including procurement and budgetmanagement;
- Collaboratewith crossfunctionalteams;
- Attendsite visits and meetings asrequired;
- Performother assigned duties asnecessary.
Requirements
- Degreein Mechanical Engineering P. Eng. or MechanicalTechnologist;
- 5years in estimating and projectmanagement;
- 7years in engineering / manufacturing and equipment design andmanufacturing environment will be a strongasset;
- Exposureto a wide range of manufacturing processes; cutting machiningwelding fabrication sandblast paint andassembly;
- Holdhigh quality and safety standards inworkmanship;
- Excellentin prioritizing planning and execution ofprojects;
- Solutionsoriented leader with excellent collaboration and communicationability;
- Strongunderstanding of projectfinancials;
- Proficientwith Microsoft Office Suite specifically reading and creatingspreadsheets in Excel;
- Strongattention to detail;
- Highlyorganized with the ability to multitask and manage several projectsatonce;
- Proficientin AutoCAD andSolidWorks;
- Strongproblemsolving and analyticalabilities.
