Role : Fabrication Quality Assurance Specialist

Location : Saskatoon

Schedule : Full Time

Day Shift : Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 am 4 : 30 pm

Night Shift : Monday to Thursday, 4 : 00 pm 2 : 30 am

As the Fabrication Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of fabricated parts and assemblies, with a focus on dimensional checks, part verification, and weld quality.

You will also take on responsibilities in training and developing staff to uphold and enhance our quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine weld and dimensional check and validations on fabricated parts to ensure they meet engineering specifications and tolerance requirements.
  • Inspect parts and assemblies for qualities, including weld integrity and dimensions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, validations, and quality findings, providing reports to supervisors and management.
  • Assist with scheduling welder testing through education, training and providing instructions.
  • Assist in the development of training programs and deliver training programs on quality and safety standards.
  • Mentor and coach production staff to improve their skills in quality assurance and ensure adherence to established quality procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality standards are integrated into the production process and meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations to quality processes and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company safety policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical certification in welding or quality control, with a CWB W47.2 Weld Supervisor Designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality control role within a manufacturing environment, preferably with a focus on welding.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, standards, and inspection techniques.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools such as calipers, tape measures, and weld gauges.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to lead training sessions and provide clear instructions.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor’s certificate is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
