Great opportunity for an immediately available Accountant to join a very successful and well-established international company in an exciting industry.

This is a 3-month contract to fill in for someone currently on leave.

What- the Role:

The Accountant is responsible for overseeing complete journal entries and general accounting-related tasks for the month-end close activities

• Perform full-cycle accounting, including preparation of working papers and supporting financial close activities to meet internal reporting deadlines.
• Prepare and enter journal entries including system downloads into the accounting system to meet month-end accounting requirements.
• Provide month-end reconciliations to the GL and prepare weekly and/or monthly reports and statements.
• Assist with global reporting requirements and support on internal & external audits.
• Positively drive agreed initiatives, propose new initiatives and adopt a sense of continuous improvement.

Who- the Candidate:

• A degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA designation.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the industry.
• Experience with Oracle, and Maximo systems are an asset.
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage timelines.
• Exceptional computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software.
• A willingness to take initiative to solve problems and a desire to identify process improvements.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clear and concise information with all departments and levels in an accurate and informative manner.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with your team and other departments.
• Fluent in English.
• Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.

How Much:

$40-42.50/hr + 4% vacation pay.

Where:

Burnaby, 5 days’ onsite, along Skytrain line.
