All employees working within the Yúustway Health and Wellness Department are required to provide a Vaccination Record as a condition of employment.

Be Part of Something Meaningful!

Are you passionate about fostering wellness in Indigenous communities? The Yúustway Health and Wellness team is seeking a Public Health Program Coordinator to support Squamish Nation members in accessing culturally grounded health services. This role is central to coordinating public health initiatives—from immunization clinics to wellness workshops—while ensuring programs honor Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values and community needs. If you thrive in collaborative environments and want to bridge health equity gaps, join us in advancing holistic well-being for our people.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate public health programs (e.g., immunization clinics, wellness fairs, Diabetes Sharing Circles) in partnership with Public Health Nurses across North Vancouver and Squamish Valley.
  • Develop culturally respectful educational materials, presentations, and reports to promote health initiatives.
  • Support data collection, tracking, and reporting for FNHA and Annual Program Outcomes, ensuring accountability.
  • Organize and promote community health events (e.g., Pap/sexual health nights, Naloxone Training) with a focus on cultural safety.
  • Act as a liaison between Public Health Nurses, community members, and external partners to identify resources and partnerships.
  • Assist in vaccine clinic logistics, including scheduling, outreach, and patient flow coordination.
  • Attend meetings on behalf of the Public Health Team to advocate for community-driven solutions.
  • Uphold wenáxws (respect) and snew̓íyelh (teachings) in all interactions with members and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in public health coordination, community outreach, or Indigenous health services.
  • Strong organizational skills for program planning, data management, and reporting.
  • Ability to create culturally appropriate health materials and engage diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of First Nations health policies (e.g., FNHA programs) and preventative care practices.
  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends for community events and clinics.
  • Cultural humility and respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.

Why Work With Us

  • Impactful Work – Be part of a team dedicated to serving the community through Na estétx̱ w sḵwálwen cht (Trust), Na estitkw sḵwálwen cht (Security), Na esḵw’úḵw’ulh sḵwálwen cht (Purpose) and Na eslhílhkw’is sḵwálwen cht (Belonging)
  • Professional Growth – We invest in our people with training, mentorship, and career development
  • Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw Values – Be part of an organization that values Úxwumixw (community/peoples), snew̓íyelh (guiding through teachings), wenáxws (respect) and inclusivity.

As a dynamic community organization, we understand the importance of employing enthusiastic and talented people to work together. We know that our future strength and growth is very much dependent on our key resources – our people. With a variety of programs and services, we offer career paths that fit many areas of expertise, backgrounds, and interests. Along with competitive compensation and benefits, we foster an environment that values diversity through the respect and appreciation of each person for their individual attributes.

Salary: $47,000 - 61,500

Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. Weare committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
