The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety is seeking a highly skilled, confident, flexible, role model(s) to fill a permanent - permanent part-time Cook position(s).

The successful candidate will work in a team environment responsible for the operation of a residential facility kitchen.
You will provide leadership, instruction and guidance to a group of male offenders in all fields of meal preparation and distribution.
You will participate in developing meal plans, maintaining quality control. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of a kitchen that supports approximately 16 offenders and 3 staff.
To be successful in this competition, you must have Journeyperson certificate or a professional cooking certificate and have experience in commercial cooking.
A Food Safe Certificate is also required. You must have knowledge of Canada's Food Guide nutritional requirements of adults and the special dietary requirements of people with diabetes, lactose intolerance, food allergies and cholesterol;
and, knowledge of food industry health, hygiene, and sanitation standards, regulations and guidelines.
