We are currently looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Lease Accounting Administrator to join our Store Support Centre team in Brampton, Ontario. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for processing rent and landlord invoices for payment via uploading a monthly rent spreadsheet into the ERP software system. In addition, you will be responsible for researching and reconciling landlord rent reconciliations and following up with landlords on any discrepancies.
The successful candidate will also be responsible to :
- Verify vendor compliance with contract / lease for allowances and discounts.
- Abstract leases and entering all pertinent information into Lucernex database.
- Research and reconcile accounts that Landlord shows outstanding or past due.
- Filing rent and lease information, updating rental files for new stores, creating and maintaining rental files for upcoming fiscal year
- Report sales monthly and annually to Landlords
- Analyze periodic rental adjustments by component and verifies accuracy of calculations and compliance with specific lease stipulations (original or as amended)
- Create journal entries at month end and reconcile of G / L accounts as assigned.
- Analyze and review current invoice input methods and procedures; propose alternative methods or procedural modifications to ensure continued processing of invoices in a timely and accurate manner in an ever-changing environment.
- Assist in processing of trade vendor and expense invoices normally assigned to others, as well as all investigations and all related unit and cost adjustments during periods of high volume, staff vacations, and / or position vacancies, as directed.
- Issue cheques and generate cheque run reports; assist with the mailing of cheques and related documentation.
- Provide annual sales certificates to landlords.
- Responsible for business license renewals for stores and assisting in attaining new business licenses as needed.
- Perform month end closing of A / P as required.

As a Lease Accounting Administrator, your analytical and problem-solving skills must be advanced with a proven track record of successfully working with a team to accomplish your objectives. You must have solid experience with a Windows-based ERP system in addition to strong Excel skills. An Accounting degree or diploma / certification from a 2 year college program in addition to at least 2 years related experience in a high-volume computerized environment is required.
