Data Architect

The company, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a part-time Data Architect with advisory / consulting experience to support a major enterprise initiative. This role will provide strategic and technical expertise to guide the organization’s data architecture modernization efforts, enabling better analytics, reporting, AI capabilities, and digital transformation. The consultant will work closely with IT leadership, enterprise architects, and business stakeholders to design modern data frameworks, implement data governance, and recommend solutions that align with organizational goals. Responsibilities :

• Provide advisory services to guide BC Transit in the modernization of its data architecture.
• Review and assess the organization’s current data architecture, platforms, and processes.
• Develop and recommend a target state data architecture aligned with the enterprise architecture principles.
• Identify and document gaps and opportunities in current data architecture to support modernization.
• Advise on the selection and implementation of modern data management and integration technologies.
• Provide recommendations for data governance, data quality, and metadata management to support modernization objectives.
• Prepare and deliver presentations, briefings, and documentation for leadership to support decision-making.
• Support the development of a roadmap and actionable steps for implementing the target data architecture.
