Job Description
The Accounting Clerk works on the Finance team to perform various accounting duties related to ensuring accurate inventory management at the Mississauga Warehouse.
The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.
Major Responsibilities :
- Verify inbound receives against Purchase Orders.
- Verify and enter all shipments, cost adjustments and quantity adjustments into the Farm Boy Warehouse management system.
- Communicate clearly with the Procurement team to resolve shipment discrepancies.
- Process invoices into Sage 300 with the correct coding as described in the general ledger.
- Reconcile the Farm Boy WMS system to the general ledger in Sage 300.
- Monitor the delivery of paperwork from warehouse employees to ensure the timely flow of documentation.
- Apply inventory cycle counts, coordinate the recount process with the warehouse, adjust inventory accordingly and advise the warehouse when inventory is complete.
- Spot check items on a periodic basis to ensure accurate inventory.
- Print, sort and distribute intercompany shipment claims to various departments for approval, processing accepted or denied claims accordingly.
- Work closely with all divisions of the Finance team to complete various tasks.
- May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.
Qualifications
- Typically requires completion of post-secondary education in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, plus 1-2 years of experience in an office setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational and proactive problem-solving skills with superior attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a high-volume, tight deadline environment.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High respect for confidentiality.
- Well-developed computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel.
- Experience using Sage 300 is considered an asset.
Work & Sensory Environment :
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Stress from open office noise.
- Sitting for long periods of time at workstations ( while keyboarding).
- Lack of control over pace due to multiple and / or tight deadlines beyond one’s control.
- Exposure to eye strain from computer terminals.
