Position Overview

The Product Manager for Mobile Motive Solutions will own the strategy, roadmap, and commercial performance of Discover’s lithium battery product portfolio serving mobile motive applications. This includes industrial equipment, AGVs, forklifts, RV platforms, and any chassis-mounted or vehicle-integrated battery systems. This role is built for a driver—someone who thrives in dynamic environments and takes ownership of turning ideas into results. This position is responsible for defining new product opportunities, driving commercialization, directing go‑to‑market execution, and representing the voice of both OEM customers and stakeholders. The Product Manager will be empowered to convert complex inputs into clear, actionable product plans and lead cross‑functional execution to deliver margin growth and portfolio performance. The ideal candidate will have the strategic insight to align technical product management with the organization’s business objectives.

Role Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Roadmap

  • Own the product‑line strategy and execution for the mobile motive portfolio, including new opportunities.
  • Final decision owner for product scope, requirements, and launch readiness within approved governance.
  • Build business cases, prioritize initiatives, and drive products through our commercialization process.
  • Monitor competitive landscape, customer needs, and market signals to guide product direction.
  • Prioritize roadmap scope, sequencing, and lifecycle transitions based on commercial impact.

Commercialization and Go to Market Execution

  • Engage directly with OEM customers, partners, and key accounts to validate market needs, support solution definition, and resolve product‑related escalations.
  • Visiting trade shows and field engagement are expected as part of the role.
  • Help develop and maintain product documentation, website content, and sales assets.
  • Support sales and BD teams with opportunity framing and product positioning.
  • Pricing, Costing, and Margin Ownership

  • Own pricing strategy, price books, and channel pricing governance across the product range.
  • Accountable for product margin performance, translating costing inputs into pricing decisions that meet defined contribution targets.
  • Define commercial requirements and target margins that guide supplier negotiations, while coordinating with Supply Chain and Operations on cost roadmaps and updates.
  • Evaluate vendor cost changes and model the impact on product pricing, competitiveness, and lifecycle decisions.
  • Cross Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the primary product interface for strategic OEM accounts within the mobile motive portfolio.
  • Own product line commercial performance, including revenue, forecasting accuracy, inventory health, pricing discipline, and margin contribution, while collaborating closely with Supply Chain on vendor cost structures.
  • Coordinate across marketing, engineering, sales, operations, and suppliers for aligned execution.
  • Identify risks, remove blockers, and enforce cross functional accountability.
  • Voice of Customer and OEM Engagement

  • Lead structured customer discovery and feedback loops to inform roadmap, requirements, and lifecycle decisions.
  • Convert VOC inputs into actionable product requirements and commercial opportunities.
  • Advocate for customer needs across two organizational structures without losing objectivity.
  • Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with a technical and / or business discipline. Master’s degree or MBA an asset.
  • 7+ years of experience in product management within the lithium battery, solar, or power electronics industry.
  • Strong product management fundamentals including opportunity sizing, business casing, and life cycle ownership.
  • Ability to bring clarity from incomplete or ambiguous inputs and translate them into executable product plans.
  • Demonstrated bias for action, accountability, and ownership.
  • Strong communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • System-level understanding, integration constraints, and application environments relevant to mobile motive and vehicle-integrated battery systems.
  • Ability to assess technical trade-offs at the system and integration level.
  • Collaborative, resilient, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about solving customer problems and driving cross functional progress.
  • Tech savvy with strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation habits.
  • Experience with OEM customer engagement or product management in mobile motive, industrial equipment, or energy storage.
  • Experience commercializing hardware products and adjacent software or integration workflows.
  • Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range : $105,000 – $135,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Bonus : Eligible for an annual performance bonus of up to 10% of base salary.
  • Benefits : This role includes standard company benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and other applicable employee programs.
