Job Title : Mechanical Assembler Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Assembler, working collaboratively along the production line to manually assemble mechanical and electronic components of complex, high-density products. Your role will involve manual assembly of electronic components, ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality standards are met at all times. You will be responsible for component preparation, placement, installation, final assembly, and packing, utilizing hand tools such as torque wrenches and screwdrivers.

Responsibilities

• Manually assemble mechanical and electronic components according to SOPs and quality standards.
• Prepare, place, install, and pack components.
• Use hand tools (e.g., torque wrenches, screwdrivers) and change bits as necessary.
• Install, mount, and fasten parts, components, wiring, and harnesses to sub-assemblies and assemblies.
• Operate from a workstation using a computer to access assembly instructions and diagrams.
• Participate in other areas such as SMT, hand soldering, and testing, which require computer work and documentation.
• Handle inventory management and control.

Work Environment

Our large, organized, clean, and quiet facility includes multiple departments within the production floor. Employees may occasionally encounter dust, solder, metals, high noise levels from machinery, or physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. The culture promotes head-down teamwork and a positive team attitude, with cross-training opportunities available to support skill development and team flexibility. The environment can be louder during morning shifts and quieter in the afternoon. Team members are part of a 50-person team, and the dress code requires wearing a smock, shoe covers, ear plugs, goggles, and closed-toe shoes. Shifts are Monday to Friday, 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM, and 3 : 30 PM to 12 : 00 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnaby, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $22.00 / hr.
