Youth Outdoor Summer Program Leaders – Community Services
Seasonal : June to August
What better place to spend your summer than in Banff? And what better summer job, than “Taking Care of Banff” by exploring, camping, and mentoring our community’s children & youth (ages 11 to 15)?
You will participate in three weeks of training, followed by facilitating eight weeks of small-group camps for children / youth. You’ll co-lead up to 10 youth per trip in a series of skill-based camps, run front-country camping trips, two guide-supported backcountry trips, foster connection between youth, our natural world, and different ways to engage with adventure. On a day-to-day basis your role will support inclusion, self-regulation, leadership, and teamwork in your group. You will occasionally drive the group in a 12-seater van (with a Class 4 license). You are a strong facilitator with a demonstrated interest in youth recreation and outdoor leadership.
If you’ve always loved working with youth, have shown community leadership, are hard-working, and invested in positive growth and healthy development, this may be the job for you. Preference is given if you are a post-secondary student in a field of study, such as : Education, Recreation, or Human Services and are returning to school in the fall.
You have standard first aid and CPR certification and can provide an RCMP background check with vulnerable sector clearance by your first date of employment. A class 4 Alberta driver’s license and clear drivers abstract is an asset, funding may be available to assist with obtaining this license.

Starting Wage : $26.00 / hour
