Akkodis is partnered with a global leading rail transportation company to recruit a Configuration Management Specialist here in Toronto.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in implementing and maintaining configuration management functions for the company's projects and products.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Implement CM Systems : Set up and maintain configuration management systems for projects and products.
  • Ensure Consistency : Maintain accurate and consistent information within CM systems.
  • Contractual Analysis : Analyze and manage CM requirements in contracts, prepare cost and time estimates, and assess risks.
  • Plan Execution : Develop and implement CM plans, including identification, control, accounting, verification, and audits.
  • Manage PLM Systems : Oversee the implementation of PLM systems, from requirements analysis to user training.
  • Technical Leadership : Provide solutions to complex CM problems and offer technical guidance.
  • Conduct Audits : Perform configuration audits and verify software build and release configurations.
  • Team Training : Train and support project team members in CM practices and PLM system usage.
  • Issue Resolution : Address and resolve CM-related issues promptly.
  • Coordination : Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other CM personnel to ensure compliance with CM requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement : Contribute to the development and enhancement of CM procedures and tools.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience : Minimum 5 years in configuration management for software / hardware development.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency with PLM systems (preferably Windchill / Palma), strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Access, Visual Studio, DOORS, ClearCase / GIT, ClearQuest / JIRA, ERP (SAP).
  • Knowledge of CM practices and principles.
  • Background in the railway industry or similar fields.
