About the Job
- You will be assigned to the Montreal coverage group and gain experience in mergers & acquisitions and equity & debt capital markets transactions across a range of industries
- You will work under the overall direction of a senior officer in a group of experienced professionals as they generate ideas, advise clients and execute transactions
How You Will Contribute
- Research and analyze clients' financial situations, industry and market data, and mergers and acquisition opportunities
- Develop advanced valuation models of private and public companies as well as merged entities
- Assist in the execution of a large array of capital market and M&A transactions
- Prepare external client proposals such as pitch presentations, Confidential Investment Memorandums and other marketing materials
- Support the due diligence processes, client negotiations and transaction documentation preparation
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, accounting, economics or engineering
- Minimum 1-3 years of financial or transactional advisory experience for Analyst position, or 3-5 years of financial or transactional advisory experience for Associate position
- Advanced Excel modeling skills and experience with various valuation methodologies and sensitivity analysis, including discounted cash flow and leveraged buyout analyses
- Applicant should be proactive, highly motivated, well-organized, detail oriented and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Applicant is a strong team player, able to contribute to a high-performance team while also working independently
- Applicant should have strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
