RVA is looking for an Engineering Designer to join their Transportation team in a full-time permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing designs for transportation projects, including roads, rail, storm / sanitary sewers, watermains and other infrastructure.
• Draft transportation plans, sections, and details for transportation construction drawings.
• Design and edit drawings in AutoCAD / Civil 3D and MicroStation / OpenRoads as required.
• Identify property and utility relocation requirements for construction.
• Work closely with project managers, senior and intermediate engineers, and other members of the team to help develop designs, reports, contract documentation and provide support as necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned / required and appropriate to this position.
• May be required to work on site for periods of time as a Site Inspector during construction season(s), under the supervision of a Contract Administrator.
