Laboure, Summer Student (Cambridge, ON)

Duration :  4 Months Internship (May 1st to August 30th 2026)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Plant Manager the Labourer (Summer Student) is responsible for performing a variety of general labour and equipment handling tasks. This includes inspecting cleaning and filling totes drums and pails. The role is physically demanding and highly variable requiring adaptability and attention to safety protocols.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• General Labour and Miscellaneous Duties
• Move pails of admixture (4488 lbs) using a dolly; up to 20 pails per batch.
• Label pails drums and totes for shipment and non-shipment purposes.
• Perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and waste disposal using shovels and brooms.
• Assist management by reporting nonconformances and supporting team operations.
• Adapt to daily task variations based on operational needs.
• Emptying Cleaning and Filling Totes
• Safely remove residual chemicals from totes using hoses and suction systems.
• Wear PPE including rubber gloves and safety goggles during chemical handling.
• Drain remaining fluid using a manual lever and tip totes manually (requires 66 lbs of force).
• Clean totes with water and refill with designated mixtures.
• Use torque bar to fix structural issues in totes.
• Additional duties as assigned
