Role Description

Reporting to the Estimating Manager , the Senior Estimator will play a key role in preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive bids for commercial, residential and industrial projects.

Overview

Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects.
Analyze project drawings, specifications, and contracts to determine scope and requirements.
Obtain competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
Develop project budgets and forecasts.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and proposal presentations.
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and consultants to ensure alignment with project expectations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry costs, materials, and market trends.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial and industrial sectors.

PQS or equivalent designation

Strong understanding of Ontario Building Codes, and construction methodologies.

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Plan Swift, Timberline, or equivalent).

Experience reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and civil drawings.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
