Job description

The Sales Manager , as a key member of the leadership team at STAUFF Canada, holds primary responsibility for guiding, developing, and enhancing the performance of the entire sales department. This role focuses on boosting sales and profit margins across all product lines, expanding market share and customer base in targeted segments, and increasing brand presence and collaboration with partners. A crucial aspect of this role is ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service, positioning STAUFF Canada as a leader in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relations with major channel partners into lasting business partnerships. Contribute to brand image building. Gain increasing confidence from customers and markets served.
  • Develop business within new markets and with new customers directly.
  • Improve selling strategies and assure their execution. Design pertinent commercial policies and guidelines with executive team.
  • Define business plans and budgets with subordinate to include sales forecasts. Evaluate business results and implement counter measures to attain objectives. Represent and defend the business performance of each product group at superior management level.
  • Lead and coach the team. Promote motivation to achieve desired results. Responsible for driving all efforts in meeting the sales plan and obtaining the desired gross margin.
  • Interface continually with the General Manager to maintain focus and alignment of sales efforts to the business plan and Mission. Review and collaborate on marketing plans to ensure they meet field sales requirements.
  • Be a key member of the leadership team to lead the organization in strategic and management initiatives.
  • Manage departmental expenses to the annual budget.
  • Recruit, hire, fire and train staff to build and maintain a continuously improving team of sales professionals.
  • Continually monitor market landscape for competitive product launches, disruptive innovation and other trends
  • Support the sales process with enhancement of sales / training tools.
  • Interface directly with customers and vendors as needed
  • Complies with ISO 9001 : 2015 regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations. Consult with HR Department as appropriate
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Excellent oral & written communication skills; must be willing and able to interact with all levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner.

  • Working knowledge of relevant products and applications is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service attitude.
  • High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • An understanding of basic fluid power concepts.
  • Proven ability to lead change and motivate at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects / initiatives with budget limits and time constraints.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of problem-solving tools / methods
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business
  • 3+ years' of sales experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or marketing is preferred.
  • Fluid Power Certification a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in sales of similar fluid power products with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • An excellent knowledge of the industries / markets served.
  • Frequent travel is required
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
