The Role

Job Title: Inside Sales/Sourcing SpecialistDepartment: ProcurementLocation: EdmontonReporting To: Procurement Team Lead

As an experienced Inside Sales/Sourcing Specialist, you will play an important role in supporting BBE’s operations and customer commitments. This position requires sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt as conditions change.

You will work closely with internal teams, customers, and partners to ensure work is completed accurately, safely, and on time. This role breaks down as follows:

  • Sourcing and procurement-related tasks: 40%
  • Customer service and quoting: 30%
  • Logistics: 30%

What You’ll Do

  • Sourcing and purchasing goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Bid evaluation and preparation of quotes for the customers.
  • Assist with researching and evaluating opportunities to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance, and work towards a continuous improvement strategy.
  • Support in negotiating improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings by following best procurement practices, tools, and methods.
  • Assist with evaluating suppliers and managing performance improvement activities.
  • Effectively interact cross-functionally with other departments as required.
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken to all customer & supplier relationships.
  • Process customer orders when needed. Arrange and coordinate transportation and expedite where necessary.
  • Work with external customers to build relations & win more business, resolve any issues and maintain healthy communication
  • Support with strategic planning and goals for the department.
  • Maintain item and vendor master & material master in ERP.
  • Strategic sourcing and finding potential vendors based on categories.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply issues which may pose a risk or impact on customer expectations.
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials.
  • Prepare purchase orders in accordance with final negotiations with selected suppliers and organizational targets and requirements.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve issues with price, quality, delivery, or invoice.
  • Work independently but also be effective within a team environment.
  • Maintain a high standard of performance in your duties.
  • Commit to BBE QHSE standards and integrate BBE values into everyday practices.
  • Comply with company standards and values.
  • Other duties may be assigned occasionally as required by the Company.
  • Carry out assigned responsibilities with accuracy, accountability, and urgency.
  • Anticipate issues and contribute practical solutions before problems escalate.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support smooth operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement in how work is done.
  • Represent BBE with professionalism and integrity.

What You Bring

  • University or Technical school degree in commerce, supply chain, or another relevant discipline preferred.
  • 8-10years' experience sourcing and managing vendors.
  • 4-5 years’ experience with external customer service.
  • Product knowledge of industrial MRO and lubricants is an asset.
  • Proficient with Maximo and Oracle preferred.
  • Professional approach to vendor and customer relationship management.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient with MS software applications.
  • Relevant experience in logistics, transportation, operations, or a related field
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced or changing environments
  • A sense of ownership—you follow through on commitments
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset
  • Willingness to adapt and learn as priorities evolve
