Quality Control Specialist Position Title : QC Location of position : Mississauga Office – On-siteDepartment : QualityAnticipated Start Date : As soon as possibleSalary / Wage range : $50,000 - $55,000MUST have Lab experienceMAJOR TASKS AND DUTIES : Test to positively release manufactured products according to product parameters and create the related certificates of analysis (COA’s)Test to positively release incoming bulk materials, such as vegetable oils, lecithin, white mineral oil, sweeteners, and create the related lot numbers and COA’s.Leverage the ERP system to update product release status and record testing results accurately.Conduct sampling and testing of raw materialsDevelop, update and validate analytical testing SOP’s for manufactured products and raw materials.Assist with investigation of internal non-conformances and customer complaintsDetermine disposition of ON HOLD materials, product rework, and support shelf life extension initiativesSupport shipping department by providing the COA with delivery of product as per customer requestsConduct new and alternate ingredient evaluations; validate conformance to existing product specifications of new raw material suppliersSupport shop floor QA monitoring of sanitation programs, production records, pest control, incoming shipmentsAid in the implementation of HACCP and GMP programs and proceduresSupport GLP’s for equipment calibration, record keeping, lab supplies (chemical and reagents), etc.Maintain lab and working areas clean, organized, stocked with supplies as requiredComplete all others duties as assignedComply with all company policiesKNOWLEDGE / SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE : Science Degree or Diploma (Food Science an asset)Working experience with Food Quality and Safety (Including HACCP) Programs and Food Plant GMP’sMinimum 2 years working experience in a Food Manufacturing or Quality LabPrevious working experience with HPLC or other analytical instrumentation requiredMust possess strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skillsMust be able manage multiple priorities and deliver results within expected timelinessStrong attention to detail, computer skills.Must be self-motivated to work with minimal supervision
