Reconciliations Specialist

Job Overview

Our client, a Top 6 Bank in Canada, is currently looking to hire a Corporate Banking reconciliations specialist to join their team in Edmonton, AB. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of corporate banking / reconciliations experience.

Job Description

This role focuses on reconciling high‑volume payment transactions across multiple channels during in‑flight operations and system migration initiatives, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of discrepancies. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Payments, Finance, Risk / Fraud, and Technology teams to maintain data integrity and optimize reconciliation processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliation of various payment types
• Investigate and resolve exceptions promptly to ensure accurate settlement and minimize client impact.
• Monitor and validate transaction data across multiple banking systems and platforms; reconcile legacy vs. target balances during migration cutovers.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of reconciliation activities for audit and compliance purposes.
• Extract, clean, and transform data using SQL, Power Query (M), and Excel; standardize files for reporting and dashboards.
• Support automation initiatives (Excel Macros, Power Query) and contribute to process improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, data privacy, and internal controls.

Qualifications

Work Environment and Logistics

Target start date of January 12 OR January 19, 2026.

Hybrid (the number of days on‑site or remote per week will be determined by the on‑site manager in charge).

Duration : 1 year contract to start with opportunities of extension OR conversion to permanent.

Pay : $32–$35 / hr.
