THE POSITION

You are responsible for creating dental office plans to maximize the operational efficiencies and patient comfort within a space while adhering to tight project timelines while ensuring adherence to Codes and design principles.

Working collaboratively with our Sales team and under the direction of our Architect, you will create schematic space plans, technical construction drawings, and Permit / Approval drawings as required, using our customized AutoCAD Architecture software. These drawings include equipment, partition, and x-ray plans, in conjunction with electrical / plumbing detail drawings, to assist with the design, remodel, relocation and / or expansion of our clients’ dental offices.

You understand building techniques and how things go together. You are comfortable with the Building Code, know how to apply it, and can navigate it with ease. You will be required to have a thorough understanding of the HARP Act and the Ministry of Health (MOH) radiation permit requirements, as you will be required to work simultaneously on multiple permit applications by drawing detailed floor plans and completing MOH forms with a high level of accuracy.

You are team oriented, have strong attention to detail, multi-task easily, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills to support your collaboration with our Sales team in the planning and execution of projects. You will be expected to track, monitor, and prioritize projects with minimal supervision. You have the ability to work under pressure due to deadlines, workload and interruptions while responding to changing priorities and questions. Experience with construction and site review is required as you will be required to visit project sites for measuring and site documentation and thus, access to a reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario Driver’s License is required.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

You have a post-secondary education in Design, Architecture, or a related discipline, complemented by three to five years’ experience in a healthcare-related field. OAA licensure would be a strong asset. You are technically proficient with AutoCAD and 3D visualization. You have professional experience using the Ontario Building Code as well as fully understand the importance of barrier-free design. You are efficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat. You have exceptional customer service skills that compliment your ability to connect and help support the work of the business.

This position is based in our Concord, ON Branch. This role is available for a hybrid working arrangement, once fully trained, available to be performed both in office (3 days / week) and home (2 days / week).
