Job description

Teknion Limited is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join us in Vancouver as an A&D Market Manager and District Manager. This unique role offers the chance to grow market share within the Architect and Design (A&D) community while also collaborating with a skilled sales team to meet district sales goals. We're looking for a strategic thinker with strong relationships in the A&D sector, excellent communication skills, and a proven history of sales success in the contract furniture industry.

What will you be responsible for in this role?

  • A&D Market Management
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive market strategy to increase Teknion's brand presence and product specification within the A&D community in Vancouver and the surrounding areas. Build and maintain strong relationships with key architects, designers, and specifiers through regular communication, presentations, and networking events. Serve as the primary contact for the A&D community, offering product knowledge, application expertise, and project support. Track A&D projects from start to finish, ensuring Teknion products are considered and specified. Work with marketing and product development teams to create targeted materials and programs for the A&D market. Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive activities within the A&D sector. Organize and host A&D events, including product launches, CEU presentations, and networking opportunities.
  • District Manager
  • Manage all sales activities related to achieving territory sales and profitability objectives, sales forecasting, and business development. Identify business opportunities and develop relationships with the customer base, including corporations, and municipal and provincial government agencies. Determine, secure, and maintain new network contacts through appropriate associations, increasing Teknion's visibility and presence in the office furniture industry. Maintain and enhance business relationships with existing Dealers by meeting with Dealer principals, discussing and implementing ways to improve performance, and educating Dealer personnel on Teknion products and procedures. Collaborate with Dealer Sales personnel to increase Teknion sales through new business development. Build business relationships with the Architecture and Design Community and their clients by educating them on Teknion's products. Stay informed about industry competitors, market trends, product innovations, and market conditions. Provide Teknion Management with critical sales information and administrative reports, and keep Head Office updated on market conditions and trends. Coordinate and maintain office and showroom administration with support staff, ensuring showroom products are kept current and in order at all times. Ensure access to the best possible channels of distribution by continuously searching for better methods to market Teknion products to end users. Confer with your immediate supervisor, suggesting changes and improvements in design, pricing, or policy.

What's needed to thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the contract furniture industry, with a strong understanding of the A&D process.
  • An established network of relationships within the Vancouver A&D community is essential.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving specification within the A&D market.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with experience in coaching and developing sales professionals.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be based in Vancouver and willing to travel within the assigned territory as needed.

The expected base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000. Final base salary offers will reflect an assessment of the selected candidate's skills, demonstrated competencies, and adherence to our internal pay equity framework.
