About Us : The Health Services I&IT Cluster provides information management and information technology solutions that enable and support the business requirements of the Ministry of Health and its agents.

We support the Ontario government's I&IT Strategy and play a leadership role in major ongoing business transformation initiatives and infrastructure projects.

What can I expect to do in this role?

As the Senior Manager IT Strategy & Enterprise Architecture, you will :

  • provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise in the development and maintenance of the cluster's architecture.
  • develop partnerships with stakeholders / clients to provide advice on I&IT strategies that support their business needs.
  • provide technical direction in the development and implementation of strategies on reducing technology footprints.
  • oversee the research, identification and assessments of current trends and developments in I&IT to inform recommendations of more efficient / effective solutions that are consistent with business objectives.
  • plan, manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the portfolio's activities in accordance with its mandates.
  • demonstrate the leadership behaviours, attributes and mindset for leaders, across the organization, to lead the OPS into the future and deliver our vision.

How do I qualify?

Strategic Leadership Skills

  • You have leadership experience and the ability to inspire, engage, motivate, develop and mentor staff to deliver on results during on-going change and transformation.
  • You are a collaborative leader and have incorporated the principles of inclusion and diversity across all elements of your management style.
  • You demonstrate good judgement, political acuity, and organizational awareness in managing issues.
  • You have demonstrated success in fostering an environment of continuous improvement, creativity and excellence.

Technical Expertise and Specialized Knowledge

  • You have Enterprise Architecture Framework expertise and a strong knowledge of technology trends to support organizations in adopting new technical strategic directions.
  • You have proven experience in development of strategic plans, and associated roadmaps to ensure the successful implementation of the strategies.
  • You have knowledge of data and information management practices, processes and enabling technologies to support the use of data for business intelligence and analytics purposes.
  • You have expertise in I&IT project management methodologies including planning, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management to effectively manage multiple complex large-scale high priority projects.

Research and Analytical Skills

  • You have experience identifying emerging issues and conducting cost / benefit analyses of alternative methods and concepts.
  • You have the ability to obtain consensus with ministry clients and other groups on a wide variety of coordination and planning issues.
  • You have experience assessing business processes and developing innovative change processes.
  • You can use research techniques, evaluation methodologies and analysis skills to lead / manage research and provide oversight and linkages.

Communication and Relationship Management Skills

  • You have strong communication skills to provide guidance and advice to liaise with a variety of people of diverse background and skills.
  • You have written communication skills to prepare recommendations, reports, procedures, responses, and program related materials.
  • You can provide advice and recommendations to senior ministry officials on a wide range of standards planning and performance assessment program activities.
  • You have experience developing partnerships with various stakeholders to resolve complex technical issues and obtain consensus on strategies in line with corporate direction.
