RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activity for Machining departmentsPerform tooling trials and capability studiesDrive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivityApply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and productsDevelop action plans as required to investigate and prioritize quality concerns and verify corrective actions on internal processes and supplier processesLead and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with Operations guidelinesCreate process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processesLead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practicesEnsure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental, and Environmental standardsSupport ISO 14001 compliance and internal ISO auditing and compliance as requiredIdentify throughput constraints and drive root cause improvementsREQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
College / Technical Diploma or equivalentExperience working in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing solutions that drive measurable improvements in productionPREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Applied ScienceProficient in customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System (QOS)Demonstrated ability to execute tasks to achieve results while effectively organizing and managing multiple prioritiesProven willingness to take a participatory approach to union relations, function as a collaborative team player, and serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the entire production organization (both hourly and salaried personnelExperience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, including practicalapplication of Lean tools such as 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), Kanban, Poka-yoke (mistake-proofing), and Value Stream MappingProficient in the use of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Design of Experiments (DOE)Ability to independently assign work to trades and technicians as requiredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with Visual Factory ManagementCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$35.00 - $40.00 / hour (depending on experience)Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)MEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
