The Project Engineer will support engineering, project development, and operational assurance activities across a portfolio of gas processing, midstream, and infrastructure projects. The role requires strong technical capability, solid business judgment, and the ability to work effectively across multiple internal teams and external partners. This position suits an engineer who can balance hands‑on execution with broader project governance and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Support
- Support engineering development, design reviews, and technical evaluations for facilities, pipelines, compression, and gas‑processing projects.
- Participate in FEED, pre‑Gate, and project assurance activities to ensure alignment with internal standards and governance processes.
- Conduct technical assessments, risk reviews, and operational analyses to support project decision‑making.
- Prepare and review scopes of work, engineering deliverables, and technical bid evaluations.
Project Development & Execution
Assist with project planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and risk mitigation.Support project controls activities including change management, MOC processes, and progress reporting.Coordinate with engineering firms, vendors, and operations teams to resolve technical queries and maintain project momentum.Participate in site visits, constructability reviews, and field troubleshooting as required.Governance & Business Alignment
Ensure project activities comply with internal governance frameworks, technical standards, and assurance requirements.Support KPI tracking, performance reporting, and project documentation.Provide clear communication across technical and non‑technical groups to maintain alignment on scope, risks, and priorities.Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with operations, engineering, and project teams to support day‑to‑day execution.Navigate complex, multi‑stakeholder environments with competing priorities.Build strong working relationships across internal teams, external partners, and engineering contractors.Qualifications
Professional Engineer (P.Eng)Background in gas processing, upstream / midstream facilities, or pipeline engineering.Experience supporting major capital projects (FEED, execution, sustaining capital, expansions).Strong business acumen with an understanding of cost, commercial drivers, and project economics.Experience with project controls, risk management, governance frameworks, or technical advisory work is an asset.Exposure to LNG, large‑scale infrastructure, or international operating environments is beneficial but not required.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.Ideal Candidate
