Job description

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for performing or overseeing maintenance on all facility equipment and systems, not limited to refrigeration machinery, splash pad equipment, HVAC equipment, boilers, ice resurfacing equipment and Building Automated Control Systems within the Town. The position is responsible for the operation of the ice rink refrigeration plant and the recreation splash pad. The position is not responsible for the operation of municipal water and sewer systems but expected to provide assistance with the maintenance of water and sewer equipment when required.QualificationsSuccessful completion of high school diploma;Must possess and be able to maintain a Refrigeration "B" Ticket or Class 4 Power Engineer's Certificate;Minimum of 2 years' of relevant experience;Hold valid Class 5 Driver License;Clear Code of Conduct;Education and training related to this position are ongoing and will include WHMIS, first aid, arena operators' course and pool operators' course;Ability to answer enquiries and explain safe operation of facility equipment to users;Work independently as well as part of the department team; andPerform other related duties, in which the incumbent is deemed to be competent, as assigned.This is a unionized position working 40 hours per week. The annual salary for this position is $69,186.19 as per the Collective Agreement. The deadline to apply is December 13, 2024.
