JUNIOR MECHANICAL DESIGNER

Reports To : Production Manager

Location : Collingwood, ON

Job Type : Full-time permanent

SUMMAY :

The Junior Mechanical Designer supports mechanical design work, drafting, and documentation for the Assembly Business Unit. This entry-level role works under the guidance of the Senior Designer to create and update SolidWorks drawings, prepare manufacturing documentation, support fixture development, and ensure design information is consistent and accurate, ensuring production consistency for volume manufacturing. This position is ideal for a technically inclined individual beginning their design career and seeking hands‑on exposure to mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and prototype development.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

CAD Modeling & Drafting

• Create or update 2D drawings, simple 3D models, and assemblies in SolidWorks.
• Apply dimensioning, tolerancing, and fabrication notes under supervision.
• Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings for machinists and suppliers.
• Maintain drawing accuracy, clarity, and revision control.
