Finance plays an important role at the strategic planning table and helps influence the future direction of Shopify.

We are looking for a Senior Staff Business Analyst - Sales Acquisition who will play a critical role in this mission. This individual will lead a team that supports the Sales Acquisition and Partnerships organizations at Shopify, and be responsible for building strategic financial plans and partnering directly with VP-level leaders across the Commercial organization to execute against those plans.

This individual will play a critical role in bringing some of the world's biggest brands to Shopify's platform in increasingly efficient ways.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of team leadership and impactful business partnership. The ideal fit will be someone with very strong data and financial acumen, ideally with direct experience in tech or other SaaS-based business models.

This individual will support Shopify's Commercial organization to make great decisions quickly, relying on timeliness and depth of insight, and doing so while thriving on change.

Responsibilities :

Lead finance support of Sales Acquisition, Partnerships and Launch teams

Collaborate cross-functionally with key segments of the business (sales, marketing, partnerships, operations, data science) to drive increasingly clearer visibility to Commercial ROI

Put forth, and see through, thoughtful investment recommendations that improve unit economics

Build thoughtful sales and partnerships plans that align with Shopify's strategic and financial goals

Gain executive approval of these financial plans through strong story-telling and presentation skills

Provide trusted thought partnership to Commercial leadership via strategic and execution support

Own the development of actionable management reporting, dashboards, and KPIs

Oversee monthly variance analysis and operating reviews to track financial performance

Leverage strong data and finance foundations to automate tasks and improve business processes

Positively influence the development of more junior teammates through leadership and mentorship

Foster close collaboration with a dynamic set of business partners and the data organization to advance Shopify's mission to make commerce better for everyone

Qualifications

10-15+ years of progressive experience leading teams and driving business impact through strong partnerships with executive-level leadership and their teams

Track record of strong performance in FP&A, management consulting, investment banking, accounting, or a related field

Strong experience in financial modeling and strategic business planning, including the creation and execution of robust financial plans

Experience in tech or other SaaS-based business models with a focus on supporting sales and marketing

A growth mindset, a builder's mentality and a proven history of effective execution

The ability to thrive in a fast-moving, ambiguous work environment and to navigate through change

Superior written and verbal communication skills, and an excellent ability to mentor and teach

Experience with SQL and other data tools, with the ability to deliver concise investment recommendations using complex data sets
