Vitacore is seeking a Machinist apprentice to join our Manufacturing & Engineering teams and train under our long-time Senior Machinist. This role is designed for someone who is hungry to learn, mechanically curious, and excited by hands-on problem solving. The successful apprentice will gain exposure to a huge variety of tasks – custom part fabrication, equipment repair, prototyping, installations, and one-off builds.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their machinist career who wants real breadth, real mentorship, and the chance to eventually take over the full machinist function.
Compensation :
- $23 CAD per hour

Job Requirements
High school diploma requiredCompletion of a pre-apprenticeship machinist program (1-year) OR currently a 1 st or 2 nd year machining apprenticeStrong interest in mechanical systems and fabricationAbility to run or willingness to learn :Manual latheSurface grinderGeneral shop and precision hand toolsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingAbility to use precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges)Curious, resourceful mindset – comfortable creating parts that don’t exist yet and solving novel engineering problemsReliable, safety-conscious, and able to work with people across many departmentsStrong communication skills; asks questions early and seeks clarity when neededBonus Consideration : Millwright / Industrial Mechanic apprentices with manual machining experienceNot a Fit : CNC-only machinistsJob Responsibilities
Design and manufacture custom parts for production, engineering, and R&D needsSupport equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting across multiple departmentsWork closely with our Senior Machinist to learn tooling setup, machining processes, safe operation, and workflow planningHelp translate engineering concepts into practical components and prototypesUses lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and hand tools to build or modify partsAssist with installations, fabrication projects, and ad hoc buildsParticipate in continuous learning, applying theoretical training to hands-on workProvide support wherever needed in a dynamic manufacturing environment, gaining exposure to many technical areashow to Apply
