HireNow Staffing is recruiting seasoned Industrial Millwrights / Industrial Mechanics on behalf of a well-established, high-volume food manufacturing operation in the Lower Mainland. The Role
As an Industrial Millwright / Industrial Mechanic , you will be a key member of the Maintenance team, directly supporting production uptime, equipment reliability, and plant safety. Your work will impact daily output, food safety compliance, and long-term asset performance.
You will be expected to work collaboratively with Maintenance, Production, and Sanitation teams to ensure maintenance activities are executed accurately, safely, and on schedule , in alignment with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
This role requires strong diagnostic ability, mechanical confidence, and the discipline to follow structured preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace a wide range of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum systems
Provide hands-on technical support to Production during runtime to minimize downtime and maintain optimal equipment performance
Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and blueprints for installations, repairs, and modifications
Install and maintain power transmission systems, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and related components
Inspect equipment to identify wear, irregularities, and failure risks; take proactive corrective action
Fabricate components using lathes, milling machines, and welding equipment (ARC, MIG, TIG)
Assemble, align, and commission equipment using hand tools, power tools, and welding processes
Execute preventative maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), and facility maintenance tasks using the internal asset management system
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and reliability
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times
Follow all food safety, health & safety, environmental, and LOTO policies
Complete work orders accurately and within scheduled timelines
Perform additional maintenance duties as operational needs require

The Ideal Candidate Required Qualifications
Licensed Millwright or Apprenticeship Level 3–4 in the Millwright trade
Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
Strong, hands-on aptitude with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Demonstrated experience using lathes, milling machines, and welding equipment
Solid understanding of preventative maintenance programs
Above-average troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Comfortable using basic computer applications (Excel, Outlook, CMMS systems)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Works safely, methodically, and with attention to detail
Highly Preferred Qualifications (Strongly Emphasized)
Food manufacturing experience (significant advantage due to regulatory and sanitation standards)
Electrical knowledge (troubleshooting, controls awareness, lockout coordination)
Proven history of contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Commitment to ongoing skill development and trade excellence

Compensation & Additional Perks
$40.50–$50.50 / hour , based on licensing status
$2.00 / hour night shift premium (9 : 00 pm – 6 : 00 am)
Up to 5% quarterly BTIP bonus based on company performance
