Position Summary

Fort Nelson Hospital is accepting applications for a Registered Nurse to staff the Emergency Department as part of the Northern Health Regional Emergency Department Education Program (REDEP). The role is focused on delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care for clients presenting with non‑urgent to life‑threatening health issues.

Responsibilities

• Apply emergency nursing knowledge and skills to assess, intervene, and monitor clients within the Emergency Department.
• Participate in the REDEP training program, including the Elsevier Emergency Nursing Orientation (ENO) online curriculum, skills / simulation lab, and clinical practicum.
• Maintain professional nursing standards in accordance with Northern Health, the College of BC, and the Canadian Nurses Association.
• Collaborate with the health‑care team to provide safe, competent, and evidence‑based care.
• Commit to a 4‑6 month education period that includes both online and in‑person learning.

Schedule & Compensation

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 08 : 00 to 16 : 00 (shift rotation may vary during education period). Compensation includes a comprehensive benefit package with extended health / dental coverage and a municipal pension plan for part‑time and full‑time employees. Four weeks vacation is provided after one year of continuous service. Moving expense support and employee referral program are available.
