Job description

Job Overview

The Village at Schlegel Villages is hiring a Recreation Team Member for a temporary part‑time position located at 1800 Talbot Rd, Windsor, ON N9H 0E3. The expected start date is February 3, 2026.

Compensation

The hiring rate for this role is $22.59 per collective agreement / employee association agreement. The position offers competitive salary and benefits including extended health benefits, retirement savings, educational assistance, scholarships, hardship support and a unique family culture.

Responsibilities

  • Be enrolled in or completed a diploma or degree in recreation / leisure studies or gerontology from a community college or university.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families and team members.
  • Support and embrace a resident‑centered social culture.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care focused on flexible living and quality of life.
  • Plan and implement recreation programs.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the five domains in therapeutic recreation that contribute to an individual’s health.
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident well‑being and holistic health.
  • Understanding of the relevant sections of the Long‑Term Care Homes Act, 2007.
