British Columbia Conservation Foundation is seeking an energetic, organized and adaptable person to fill the fast-paced role in office administration.

The ideal candidate will possess both work and life experience in the natural environment and enjoy working in office administration, ideally including familiarity with accounts payable.

The individual brings a positive can-do attitude to the job, as well as a willingness to learn, adapt and respond quickly while maintaining a high standard of attention to detail.

This is primarily an office-based position.

Job Description

Hours : 5 days per week, Monday Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Location : Kamloops, BC

Wage : $23 $29 / hour

Term : Permanent position with a 3-month probation period

Report to : Regional Manager

Anticipated Start date : Nov. 1, 2024 or sooner

Closing Date : October 13, 2024

The Office Administrator will primarily support the team in Kamloops and also the Executive Director. The successful candidate will coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance with organizational policies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage phone calls and correspondence (e-mail, letters, packages, etc.).
  • Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial and other data.
  • Support budgeting and bookkeeping procedures (AP; expense claims, cheque reqs, sign-over letters).
  • Track stocks of office supplies and place orders when necessary.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • University and / or college degree in business administration, non-profit management or relevant field.
  • Familiarity with office management procedures and accounting principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and office management software.
  • Understanding of policies and procedures in a variety of administrative programs.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a demanding environment while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and be proactive in identifying and addressing issues.
  • Passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion with the interest to support purposeful change.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills; other language skills are an asset.
