SEO Manager

Job Summary

The SEO Marketing Manager is a new functional expert role with Equinix residing within the Digital Marketing Department, which oversees global marketing website production, digital analytics, web content and paid media.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in SEO / Organic Search Engine optimization and website performance management is required for the role.

Strong candidates should have a track record of successfully implementing and managing SEO strategies that have resulted in improved organic search rankings and increased website traffic.

The role will regularly be required to take strategic ideas and break down into actionable tactical components. Experience managing multi-website projects, either agency side for multiple clients or in-house for enterprise organization working with broad digital content is required.

Full spectrum of website optimization analysis and scaled tactical solutioning including technical, content, linking strategy, international SEO, keyword development, offsite SEO is necessary.

Candidates with a variety of experience in related marketing, analytics, site development, paid search, digital marketing and site design / UX fields are a plus.

Relevant certifications, such as Google Analytics and Google Ads certifications, are a plus.

Responsibilities

In-depth Knowledge of SEO

The candidate should possess a strong understanding of search engine algorithms, keyword research, on-page and off-page optimization techniques, link building strategies, and SEO tools.

They should stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in SEO

Analytical Skills

The candidate should understand the value of research and reporting in SEO and be well versed in site audits and data analysis to guide decision making.

Must have familiarity using various industry tools, such as Google Search Console, SEOmoz, BrightEdge, SEMrush, Conductor, Lighthouse Metrics, general analytics tools such as Google Analytics or adobe analytics, and keyword research tools.

They should be able to analyze data, identify trends, assess competitive metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimize website performance and prioritize greater projects / tasks

Technical Expertise

The candidate should have a solid understanding of technical SEO aspects to capitalize on improvements related to website speed optimization, spider usability factors and code optimization best practices.

Areas related to website structure, URL optimization, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, general coding optimization techniques, language identification, mobile optimization standards, compression and image optimization are valued.

Candidates should be able to work closely with site developers explain value of updates and help to partner with and implement technical SEO recommendations

Content Optimization

The candidate should have strong writing skills with experience in enhancing and optimizing website content for search engines.

They should be able to conduct keyword research, taxonomies to well organized topical divisions, create SEO-friendly content, optimize meta tags, headings, and alt tags, and ensure content is engaging and relevant to the target audience

Link Building

The candidate should have a solid understanding of basic link building strategies and be able to develop and execute effective link building campaigns both onsite and offsite

Communication and Collaboration

Strong communication skills are essential for an SEO Manager at Equinix. Candidates should be able to effectively communicate strategies, recommendations to developers, content leaders and site product owners.

As well as results to stakeholders, including clients, management, and cross-functional teams. They should also be able to collaborate with content creators, developers, producers and digital marketing teams to gain alignment for SEO efforts, drive towards overall marketing objectives and see projects through to completion

Project Management

Top candidates are self-starters with the ability to take inventory of critical needs and gaps within a program and pull together a cohesive plan with support of their manager.

The candidate should be well organized and capable of managing multiple SEO projects simultaneously. They should be able to scale effectively for large sites, using large data sets and keyword sets while breaking down website needs to prioritize tasks by effort and impact, set realistic deadlines, structure projects into actionable production tasks, build business cases for work tickets, proactively set actionable objectives and ensure timely execution of SEO initiatives

Continuous Learning

The candidate should have a natural curiosity for learning and staying updated with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry developments.

They should actively champion benefits of strategic site optimization and the value organic traffic brings to global marketing as a channel.

Education and coaching of others regularly is expected to help convey expertise in the function

Qualifications

5+ years experience preferred

Experience in related digital marketing, site development / UX and analytics preferred

Bachelor's degree min

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are :

San Francisco, CA / Bay Area : $111,000 to $185,000 per year

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.

Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training.

This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
