About the Opportunity
The Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH), in Sydney, NS, is seeking a full time General Surgeon, preferably a Colorectal Surgery Fellowship trained physician or Surgical Oncology Fellowship trained physician, with an interest in colorectal health issues with a particular focus on rectal cancer.
The successful candidate will be a part of a 6 fulltime physician team in general surgery. A candidate with one of these fellowships is preferred, but all interested surgeons are encouraged to apply.

CBRH opened its door to patients in . Now, it is the second largest acute care facility in Nova Scotia that serves more than , patients a year.
It is part of a four-hospital complex that also includes Glace Bay, New Waterford Consolidated, and Northside General Hospitals.
Located in the historic town of Sydney, CBRH has acute care beds, 36 emergency beds, 23 intermediate and critical care beds, 40 maternal child beds, 52 mental health and addiction beds, and nine palliative care beds.
The hospital provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient, and community-based programs.

Qualifications
Candidates must be certified, or eligible for certification, by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and satisfy the credentialing requirements of the Nova Scotia Health Authority. ( )
