A Hotel Front Desk Supervisor oversees daily front office operations and ensures excellent guest service. Typical duties include :
Guest Service & Experience
- Welcome guests and handle check-in / check-out procedures
- Resolve guest complaints, special requests, and service issues promptly
- Ensure a high standard of professionalism and hospitality at the front desk
- Handle VIP arrivals and special accommodations
Staff Supervision
Supervise, train, schedule, and motivate front desk agentsAssign daily tasks and ensure adequate desk coverageMonitor staff performance and provide feedback or coachingEnforce hotel policies, procedures, and service standardsFront Office Operations
Oversee reservations, room assignments, and rate accuracyBalance cash drawers, review shift reports, and manage billing issuesEnsure proper use of the property management system (PMS)Coordinate room status with housekeeping and maintenanceAdministrative & Reporting
Prepare daily front desk reports and occupancy forecastsAssist with payroll, attendance, and performance documentationMaintain guest records and confidentiality standardsCoordination & Communication
Act as liaison between guests and other hotel departmentsCommunicate operational issues to managementAssist the Front Office Manager with planning and problem-solvingSafety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety procedures, and legal regulationsHandle emergency situations calmly and effectively
