Your New Role
We are currently seeking a motivated and self-disciplined Building Operator to join this well-established organization at their commercial retail and office portfolio in Downtown, Vancouver.
This role is suited for someone with excellent communication and customer service skills who has a detail-oriented approach.
If you take initiative and are comfortable completing various types of maintenance including preventative, routine and responding to tenant service requests, then this is the role for you! You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling building systems including mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life and fire safety systems, DDC and BAS.
You will ensure that tenants are comfortable and respond to work orders in a timely manner. You will also complete water treatment, isolate and drain water systems, and report all known mechanical issues to the chief engineer.
You may also complete minor maintenance to rectify deficiencies such as minor plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall repair, or overseeing contractors on site.
What You'll Need to Succeed
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of commercial building operations experience and is comfortable with various types of mechanical and building equipment.
You should also be familiar with various building automation systems including keyscan security, lighting, and HVAC systems.
Strong communication skills, good mechanical abilities and problem solving skills are a must. A 5th class power engineering certification is required, but a 4th class power engineering certification would be considered a strong asset.
Please note, this is an evening shift, thus ability to work Monday Friday from 2 : 30 pm 11 : 00 pm is required as well comfortability working within a union.

In exchange for your hard work and commitment, the successful candidate will be compensated with : $41.00 - $45.00 per hour, as this is unionized role, any overtime outside of your standard hours will be subject to double time ($82.
