About The Opportunity
Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignmentAssists in the provision of social, spiritual, and intellectual activities for residentsCleans resident rooms, server and household common areasCheck laundry for tears, holes, missing buttons, etc. and repair as required or inform Supervisor if permanent damageMonitor, fill and replenish supplies in resident’s suites, nursing units, and washroomsEmpties / cleans waste bins in resident’s suites – move waste to designated trash areaEnsure personal health and safety by taking every reasonable precaution in all circumstancesUnderstand role, and participate in the testing process for emergency responseFollows safety, environmental and infection control practices as per facility policiesProvides input for Wellness Consultation meetings as requestedReports areas and equipment in need of repair to a supervisorParticipates in the resident and employee incident reporting and investigation process as requiredCompleting all duties in a way which is consistent with Shannex’s Philosophy of Service : Your life. High school diploma or equivalentHome / Personal Support Worker program, Special Care Home program, Health Care Aide or Human Services program, or equivalentAbility to assess and prioritize multiple work assignments while displaying a high level of professionalism and commitment to quality serviceAdheres to the Standards of Nursing Practice, Code of Ethics, Registered Nurses Act and Regulations as defined by provincial legislationCurrent knowledge of community resources (e.g., services and programs), and roles of health care professionalsAble to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidaysEducation in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care is considered an assetCompleted Back in Form Lift and Transfer Program is considered an assetProof of valid CPR & First Aid Certification is considered an assetAdditional duties as requiredAbout Us
