Our amazing non-profit client, located in NE Calgary, is looking for a Non-Profit Program Accountant to join their passionate team.
Responsibilities for this role include auditing, document control and compliance, as well as being a government liaison.
Working with the Director of Finance and the Finance Manager, the ideal candidate will be accountable for the daily and monthly financial reporting for government contracts, and will be working with government contract reps, the CRA, and auditors.
This person will have impeccable attention to detail and organization, as well as thrive and work autonomously under competing deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities :
The key job functions are :
- Reviewing and organizing the daily and monthly requirements for government contract submissions
- Working with government contract reps, the CRA, and auditors, ensuring schedules are completed in a timely manner, accurate, and compliant with requirements of the contract
- Supporting the submission of ongoing proposals
- Sourcing out new possible government contracts
- Assisting the Finance Manager with tasks when required (inventory, internal auditing, risk management, preparing and submitting cash flows, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Education :
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, majoring in accounting, or related field
- Currently working towards (- courses finished) or completed CGA / CPA designation
Qualifications :
- Successfully complete a criminal background check
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is preferred
- High proficiency in Sage and MS (specifically Excel pivot tables)
Experience :
- Minimum years as a Financial Accountant, or relevant experience
- Experience working in a non-profit and with government contracts is required
