MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for an Engineering and Construction Manager in Calgary. Our client is a real estate development, construction, and management company that builds residential and commercial properties across Canada and the United States.
They manage a diverse portfolio of rental properties and invest in real estate assets for sustainable returns.
Responsibilities
- Manages engineering design and approvals, tendering process, and site servicing for new and existing development projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinates and manages the engineering consultant team to achieve leading-edge community designs and oversees overall grading, earthwork, and servicing strategies.
- Obtains approvals from municipalities, negotiates relevant agreements, and ensures compliance with company policies, government legislation, and health & safety regulations.
- Focuses on cost savings and value engineering, manages tendering and contract administration, and controls construction costs and progress.
- Actively participates in engineering design, supports site operations, maintains strong employee engagement, and promotes sustainability in development projects.
Requirements
- Education : Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering, Land Use Planning, or a related field.
- Experience : Minimum of five years of engineering experience in residential land development.
- Technical Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, MS Project); knowledge of CAD is an asset.
- Specialized Knowledge : Strong understanding of engineering design, planning processes, and planning theory related to development.
- Interpersonal and Analytical Skills : Strong negotiation, mediation, interpersonal, communication, presentation, analytical, research, and report-writing skills; team player.
