Description
Working within the Systems Engineering function, the Reliability Engineer Senior I will play a key role in a multi-disciplinary project team developing new and innovative solutions for the Royal Canadian Navy and its partners in the Anti-Submarine Warfare (AWS) domain.
The successful candidate will provide technical support across various e ngineering products and equipment , manag e technical work packages within defined cost and quality targets , and contribute subject matter expertise independently and collaboratively.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance (secret) , due to the nature of the programs we deliver for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Apply broad and deep engineering expertise to develop solutions to complex technical challenges within time, cost, and quality constraints.
Support technical proposals and bid activities.
Define, derive, and manage system- and subsystem-level requirements.
Work collaboratively with engineering peers to improve the reliability, maintainability, and usability of Ultra’s designs.
Conduct lifecycle cost analyses, level-of-repair analyses, and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA / FMECA).
Perform reliability modelling and maintainability assessments to optimise support strategies.
Evaluate the contribution of human factors to system failures.
Prepare or provide input to technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, operating manuals, and maintenance manuals.
Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, standards, and best practices in safety, environmental compliance, and engineering methods.
Lead technical and design reviews and contribute to risk management activities.
Actively support the digital transformation of the business and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Act as a change champion, challenging existing methods and driving innovation.
Mentor and coach junior staff to support development and retention goals.
Qualifications / Skills :
Degree level (or equivalent experience) in Systems , Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
Has achieved a minimum of 6 + years of experience in t he Supportability fiel d - ideally within the naval defense sector or a highly complex engineering environment.
Highly d esirable :
Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), including LCC, LORA, sparing, and obsolescence management.
Operational Analysis and Whole Life Cost Modelling, including availability trade-off studies.
Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and System Safety (RAMS) methods, including :
Reliability predictions
RBDs
Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
FMEA / MTA
Common Cause Analysis
Zonal Analysis
FRACAS / DRACAS
Asset management, training development, design, and delivery.
Desirable :
Familiarity with sonar systems and naval operations.
Experience with OmegaPS / OmegaPS Analyser .
Experience with Isograph reliability and safety analysis tools.
Additional Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Use of standard office tools and proven experience with tools such as DOORS, UML tools, ERPs and other c onfiguration m anagement tools.
