SUMMARY

The Manager, Senior Project Management will ensure operational excellence by planning, coordinating, and supporting team pricing processes and involvement.

The focus of the position is to develop people, monitor and improve performance, and support the day-to-day needs of our customers through superior pricing procurement.

The Manager will ensure the customer proposals are competitively priced to enable business wins. He / She will drive rates / contract negotiations and be involved in RFQ and bid processes.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and direct the overall applicable operational departments and service functions daily.
  • Provide leadership, coaching / development, and performance management to direct reports. Manage and direct the overall applicable operational departments and service functions daily
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained for their job activities as well as define specific job assignments.
  • Assist in the management of performance to ensure required levels of productivity and organizational objectives are met
  • Instruct operational team to minimize service failures to ensure service commitments are met
  • Responsible for team quality and productivity
  • Responsible for pricing all incoming bids and providing analytical support to increase and improve anticipated cost model.
  • Achieve compliance with all regulatory requirements, capacity development, optimizing costs, increasing revenues through pricing strategies and improving profitability.
  • Create pricing policy, recommend changes in pricing structure / methodology, and apply consistent processes and operating procedures to implement pricing changes and gain maximum efficiencies.
  • Regularly creates and presents reports to the business teams of the Tender results, ICAP preparation, post-mortem and price analytics, and other required information
  • Ensures that business decisions are made according to existing business controls and that all regulatory requirements are met and followed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 5+ years international transportation industry experience
  • A minimum of 3 years in a Supervisory / Pricing role.
  • College diploma in international trade or equivalent work experience
  • CIFFA or equivalent education, an asset.

  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment on a regular basis to direct Operations staff to achieve branch goals

  • Supporting staff by coaching, counselling in performance management
  • Setting and reviewing annual Performance and Development Priorities for team

Language and Computer Skills

  • English is the principal language for this position, additional languages may be required in other locations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • CargoWise experience, an asset

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Regular working hours apply for this position, at times, working beyond these hours may be required by business needs.
