Ross Macdonald School in Brantford, which serve students who are deafblind in a student lodging school setting at both the elementary and secondary school levels.

Competition : PDSB24-044 - Teacher of the Deaf-Blind- Supply- W. Ross Macdonald School Brantford Primary / Junior / Intermediate and / or Senior division qualifications required.

NOTE : PDSB is currently inviting applications from OCT qualified teachers who are interested and willing to obtain the Deaf-Blind Specialist.

You will : Provide individual / group programs of instruction for students who are deafblind; Plan individual program needs as well as diagnosis and prescriptive teaching;

Provide regular communication to parents regarding school and classroom activities; Participate in professional development activities.

What we are looking for : Qualifications : Valid Certificate of Registration and Qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers;

Willingness to work towards obtaining Teaching Students who are Deaf-Blind teaching qualifications; Appropriate subject(s) and division qualifications for the position.

• Abilities : Ability and demonstrated experience teaching students who are deafblind; Ability to apply an in-depth knowledge of the principles of teaching students who are deafblind;
• Ability to apply curriculum adaptations, methods and materials to assist students who are deafblind; Ability to develop / modify lesson plans to successfully teach students who are deafblind;
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom and students using a variety of behavioural management techniques; Ability to write and present education materials and lesson plans using excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

Ability to communicate with students who are deafblind; Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Location : W.
