  • To design and / or deliver Continuing Education and revenue generating programs and services to meet the needs of businesses / industry and the community.
  • Determine the education and training needs relevant to economic and public sector employers, with a focus on the development of skills and training of individuals to help business / corporate clients meet their goals.
  • Create plans and proposals for educational activities to meet the business-related learning needs of both individuals and groups within a variety of fields and industries.
  • Work collaboratively with product development team to create project budgets and pricing to include in the development of curriculum development proposals
  • Work with the Continuing Education leadership to research new initiatives and offerings within the Continuing Education unit.
  • Ensure the design and development of quality programs and services responsive to training and development needs of individuals, business / corporate / professional clients, and / or project funders.
  • Determine gross activity budgets for an assigned work area.
  • Manage financial resources to meet programmatic needs and report revenues

and expenditures against agreed upon targets.

  • Attend Leadership meetings and Advisory meetings for your assigned work area.
  • Attend client meetings and provide insight and knowledge related to curriculum design and development
  • Develop and implement appropriate marketing strategies to promote the programs and Continuing Education services as they relate to the training and development needs of individuals and business / corporate clients / project funders.
  • Oversee and manage curriculum development efforts for the life cycle of projects
  • Monitor ongoing programs and services to ascertain their effectiveness, including individual / client / project funder satisfaction.
  • Manage the daily operations of department activities.
  • Act as the lead for project activity for your assigned team in Continuing Education, including the collaboration with other Continuing Education staff, holding regular meetings to keep everyone informed about Continuing Education activity, and monthly and / or quarterly reports for your projects.
  • Contribute to the development of and implementation of the training solutions and more broadly the Centre for Continuing Education business plan.
  • Contribute to the development and management of operating capital budgets.
  • Assist in the hiring and assignment of work for Curriculum Development and Professional Services staff for your assigned area.
  • Oversee and provide leadership to Curriculum Developers, Instructional Designers, and Administrative employees within the Product Development team
  • Contribute to the goals and development of the division and Saskatchewan Polytechnic in accordance with the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Continuing Education policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

  • A Master of Education (M.Ed) with a Specialty in Educational Technology and Design
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in planning, developing, implementing, and leading continuing education programming; or recent participation in at least two of the following

areas : Marketing plans and strategyBusiness plans and business developmentTraining needs assessmentsTraining proposal development

  • Sales and negotiation or proposal and grant writing
  • Leadership and supervisory experience, providing strategic level impact.
  • Analytical, motivational, and strategic planning skills required along with strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and allocating resources within established guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to create and foster relationships with clients / stakeholders.
  • Ability to collect and analyze client / stakeholder feedback / market research to identify business needs and obstacles.
  • Highly motivated, team oriented, flexible, self-directed, and committed to the enhancement and expansion of the organizations’ Extension unit.
  • Effective problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
  • Ability to work as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
  • Demonstrates valuing diversity.
