Operations Supervisor – Convergint
Convergint is recruiting for an Operations Supervisor in Calgary, AB. Under minimal supervision, the role oversees technical service and projects, supervises service and project colleagues, communicates with customers to ensure satisfaction, and supports ongoing development of existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, oversee and coordinate all aspects of technical operations activities, including operations planning, qualifying potential business, reviewing proposals (pre‑bid), and booking turnover.
- Coach, counsel and train colleagues to improve individual skills; overall responsibility for customer satisfaction on all install and service accounts.
- Supervise colleagues (typically Project Managers & Project Coordinators) to maintain morale, skill proficiency and productivity. Recruit and hire team members as required in conjunction with the HR Department. Responsibilities include mentoring, coaching, planning, assigning and directing work, and performance management.
- Oversee execution of technical contracts – estimated cost versus actual cost; review contracts (CSPs and projects); labor resource planning and invoice review.
- Identify potential project risks and develop / implement strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines. Escalate potential financial risk or slip to the appropriate senior leader.
- Assist sales team on technical project labor and material estimates in addition to service‑related proposals.
- Develop and implement strategies that improve execution and provide additional value to customers in a cost‑effective manner.
- Seek recommendations from all team members to identify sales opportunities through changes in scope of work, upsell recommendations and service recommendations.
- Work with Project Managers and Account Managers to ensure quality control and customer satisfaction on all project and service accounts.
- Manage service installations and service work planning and coordination by supporting and / or setting schedules and identifying issues of non‑performance early to minimize risk.
- Review engineering design works over $50,000 and make any necessary recommendation for change; provide final approval prior to execution.
- Utilize financial systems to review actual versus estimated contract cost, analyze risk assessment, and initiate any corrective measures required.
- Promote development of new CSP opportunities through conversion of installation business activities.
- Proactively communicate with and seek feedback from all customers. Continuously improve customer satisfaction. Seek feedback through the Company Customer Survey process.
- Meet with customers regularly to ensure quality installations that meet their individual needs.
- Liaise with senior leaders from the United States on both the National Service Operations Leadership team and the professional services group.
- Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times, ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Present a professional image of Convergint at all times in appearance and behavior and seek opportunities to promote the company’s services.
- Provide safety leadership and direction; ensure health and safety of all colleagues through compliance with OH&S legislation and Convergint Safety Policy.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
What You’ll Need / Qualifications
