Job Description :
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Golden, British Columbia. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in our LVL Mill.
The Journeyman Electrician will work independently and as part of a team, and will be expected to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems, as well as provide solutions to ensure safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct electrical PM’s and document findings.
- Troubleshoot electrical equipment.
- Apply skills to perform assigned tasks, maintaining high quality of workmanship as per CEC Requirements.
- Complete training identified by the Electrical Supervisor.
- Maintain and Troubleshoot PLC Systems.
- Fix and modify PLC / HMI programming.
- Assist in the training of other electricians, apprentices and site personnel based on your skill and abilities.
- Actively participate in EHS Programs.
- Maintain housekeeping of the assigned areas.
- Participate in improvement projects, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring / controlling and closing.
- Participate in meetings.
- Utilize CMMS, specifically EAM to document workflow.
- Provide electrical support to operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills Required :
- Electrical Red Seal Journeyman Certification
- 3 Years of industrial experience.
- BC Master Electrician FSR Class A or B an asset
- Knowledgeable of electrical functions.
- Knowledgeable of equipment and tools.
- Knowledgeable of basic PLC Systems; Hardware, software, and programming.
- Time management and prioritizing skills.
- Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience in various HMI Software.
- Experience on VFD, controls and PLCs (Allen Bradley / ,Siemens, Schneider, etc.)
- No aversion to working in high places.
- Capable of lifting 50lbs.
- Ability to read an interpret electrical drawings.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Good communication, interpersonal skills and writing skills.
- Demonstrated coordination and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Willing to take training courses for trade upgrading.
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent with WorkSafe BC requirements.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company standards.
Compensation
$46.09 / per hour
