Role Introduction
Cathay Pacific Airways is looking for a Marketing & Communications Specialist to join the Vancouver Marketing Team in a salaried capacity.
The successful candidate will support the planning and execution of effective regional and national campaigns to generate direct sales revenue and achieve or exceed target.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign & Agency Management
- Support the development regional marketing campaigns
- Support the adaptation and execution of global campaigns to suit the local market
- Ensure all campaign / marketing materials are on brand and are kept up to date
- Liaise with external marketing agencies as appropriate to expand customer reach
- Support the effectiveness of local campaigns by checking local language and
cultural considerations
Support the Regional Marketing, PR and Digital Sales teams to implement activities
across the markets and where necessary prepare creative briefs to meet local
needs
Partnerships
- Work with agencies to deliver and execute marketing campaigns as required
- Brief local agencies to deliver campaign concepts through to production, execution
and result evaluation as required
- Assist in devising partnerships aligned with global partnerships strategy
- Engage and manage relationships with local airports, tourist boards, partners and
sponsors aligned with and in co-ordination with regional team
Communications
Help to build and maintain strong local media relationships, contacts, and database
with PR agency
Arrange and support local media events, familiarisation trips, management
interviews and public speaking and engagements as required
Analyze, track performance, and generate post-campaign reports and
recommendations for future campaign optimization.
Manage editorial calendars, media budget planning and syndicate messaging
schedules primarily across Facebook and Instagram.
Social Marketing
Design, develop and execute comprehensive social media strategy to align with
business goals, and drives brand awareness, relevance and consumer engagement
while maximizing ROI
Oversee social media calendar, development of digital content strategy, creating,
executing, promoting, and measuring the success of social marketing activities
Proactively identify and leverage emerging social media channels and opportunities
by developing innovative strategies and approaches
Coordinate the creation of social media assets and maintain visual brand identity.
Maximize brand and product exposure through integrating elements
Oversee all social media activities while collaborating with regional and internal
teams (sales, brand, operations, PR, etc) to optimize content management on social
media, with a focus on brand perception, public opinion management, growing
reach and engagement
Ensure all content is fully optimized across all digital platforms via tagging, linking
and rapidly implementing new social media technology
Create comprehensive action plans for all macro projects to maximize brand and
product exposure
Bridge between organic and paid social marketing activities, optimize the activities
across all touchpoints
Day-to-day management of social media platforms as needed
General
Provide support to gain country and regional port updates into the local marketing
environment in order to formulate plans to ensure maximum campaign effect
- Leverage databases and partnerships to ensure maximum customer reach
- Support and / or execute regional events, as needed
- Any other reasonable task as required
Agency Management
Assist to prepare marketing briefs for local marketing, communications and social
materials / needs
Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
Post-Secondary Diploma / Certificate in a relevant field such as, Marketing or Campaign Management or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
- Knowledge of, or experience in, the airline industry is a distinct advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent level of PC literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop and / or Illustrator is an advantage
- Adaptive to and embraces constant change
Additional Requirements
- Must successfully pass all pre-screening clearances, including a background check and pre-employment drug screen upon contingent job offer
- Strong cognitive reasoning and mathematical skills are essential
- Must be willing and able to travel within North America and overseas, if required
- Must have the right to live in work in the Canada
- Must comply with the Company’s mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination policy
